Mako Aquatics Kicks off Championship Season at Speedo Sectionals

July 7-10 saw 13 Mako Aquatics swimmers travel to Minneapolis, MN to attend Speedo Sectionals, the first meet the Long Course Championship Season.

The highlights of the meet were Tom Watry achieving his Para National C Team Time Standard in the S9 100 Fly with a time of 1:06.85L, Ella Stein's 2nd place finish in the 100 breast, Ellery Ottem's 3rd place finishes in the 100/200/800 free


Individual Team Records were broken by Evie Wood (15-16 Women 200 Fly), Sky DuPont (17-17 Women 100 back, 200 fly), Melissa Parker (19&O Women 50/100/200/400/800 free), Gabby Vitela (19&O Women 100/200 back), Ella Stein (19&O Women 100/200 breast, 200 IM), Andrew Hanson (15-16 Men 200/400 free), Ethan Hanson (17-18 Men 100/200 Breast), Jonathan Bennett (17-18 Men 200 IM), Joe Saldin (19&O Men 100/200 Breast), Steven Asmus (19&o Men 200 IM).

Mako Aquatics continues their Long Course Championship Season this weekend where swimmers will be competing at the Last Chance Qualifier Meet this weekend in Rochester, at the Age Group State Meet in Rochester the weekend of July 22-25, the Senior State Meet in Minneapolis July 29-August 1, the Speedo Summer Championships in Irvine, CA August 3-7 and NCSAs in Huntsville, Alabama August 5-8.
