Meet A Future Leader In Hudson: Anna Nelson

The future of Hudson is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Anna Nelson, who are making a positive impact in and around Hudson.

Anna, a 2024 graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a native of Hudson, exemplifies academic excellence and a passion for social impact. Graduating with comprehensive honors, she earned dual majors in Philosophy and Gender & Women’s Studies, as well as a certificate in Art Studio. She also completed a dual honors thesis focused on pedagogical methods to improve classroom dialogue in gender studies, a reflection of her commitment to fostering inclusive and effective learning environments.

Beyond academics, Anna demonstrated leadership and community engagement by co-editing the Madison Journal of Literary Criticism, restarting an abolitionist collective and publication and serving as a volunteer camp counselor. Now residing in Des Moines, Anna works as a Program Associate at the Institute for Multipartisan Education, where she contributes to fostering constructive dialogue and reducing polarization through initiatives that promote open-mindedness and active listening.
