• Hudson Hot Air Affair ‘Sky Walkers Return to Rock' theme (piercecountyjournal.news) — Hudson’s signature winter festival, the Hudson Hot Air Affair, is set to return Feb. 6-8, 2026, at EP Rock School and sites around town with the theme “Sky Walkers Return to Rock.” Organizers are lining up volunteers and a full slate of countdown events at local spots like Big Guys BBQ, Hudson Grocery Co-op, and the Hudson Area Senior Center.
   

• Inaugural Starter Home Project home for sale in NR (piercecountyjournal.news) — Hudson readers are seeing a new approach to affordable housing take shape nearby, as the first Starter Home Project house just hit the market in New Richmond with long-term price restrictions to keep it affordable. The modular home, backed by St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity and local business partners, is part of a broader effort to replicate smaller, $200,000–$300,000 starter homes across western Wisconsin communities, including Hudson.
   

• St. Croix Valley Foundation opens regional grants supporting early childhood, the Arts (piercecountyjournal.news) — Based in Hudson, the St. Croix Valley Foundation has opened two regional grant programs that could benefit local families and arts groups. Nonprofits serving counties including St. Croix can now apply for early childhood “First Thousand Days” funding and Valley Arts grants, with application deadlines in January 2026.
