Now, he’s urging more local venues to install AEDs and residents to learn CPR, tying his recovery and return to performing to broader community preparedness for sudden cardiac emergencies.

Huge buck shot in Dane County could rank high in Wisconsin records (jsonline.com) — A Madison hunter may have taken one of Wisconsin’s top-record whitetail bucks during the December metro gun season in Dane County. Twenty-two-year-old Steven Loomans braved blizzard conditions, borrowed his grandfather’s rifle, and dropped a massive deer that could rank among the state’s biggest once its rack is officially scored after the drying period.

Monona police call off two car chases, suspects at large (nbc15.com) — Monona police recently ended two dangerous car chases near US 12, and officers are still looking for a suspect identified as a 43-year-old Madison resident. Madison Police helped Monona officers link a white Chevy Malibu to the man, whose vehicle was impounded after the second pursuit. Authorities continue to investigate these closely connected incidents in the Madison–Monona area.

- There was a loose midsize dog (looked light colored from a distance) barking nonstop NE of Midtown Commons Park around 5pm.
It ran when approached towards Newbery Park. Hope it gets reunited with its owner! (Nextdoor Midtown Commons) - Seen Cat- in backyards on W Oakbrook Cir.
~1:30. It has tags, let me get fairly close, but not close enough. It's a dark striped cat with at least least 3 white paws. (Nextdoor Oakbridge)
