1. Wisconsin building commission approves $185M in new projects (finance-commerce.com) — State leaders meeting in Madison have approved $185 million in construction projects, including $130 million for a new juvenile correctional facility in Fitchburg that will serve Dane County youth. The facility is slated for completion in 2028 and is central to closing the troubled Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake youth prisons. The commission also backed military and UW system building upgrades statewide.
   

2. Driver arrested for OWI on Beltline (channel3000.com) — Police say a man was arrested on the Beltline in Madison after allegedly driving drunk, hitting a guardrail near University Avenue, and being found passed out behind the wheel. The 58-year-old from Black River Falls was taken to Dane County Jail on a suspected fifth-offense OWI, while News 3 Now withholds his name until any formal charges are filed.
   

3. Delta Air Lines launches nonstop service from Madison to Boston (channel3000.com) — New nonstop Delta flights between Madison and Boston will launch June 7 from Dane County Regional Airport, giving local travelers another daily option to reach Boston Logan. The route, which follows a similar move by American Airlines, features mid-afternoon arrivals and departures and is being touted by county leaders as a sign of growing momentum at the Madison airport.
   

4. DOJ offers safety tips regarding sextortion (gazettextra.com) — State justice officials in Madison are warning families about a growing online threat called sextortion and sharing concrete steps for teens and parents to stay safe. The new public service announcement follows a 2025 law making sextortion a felony in Wisconsin and features two affected families, while also pointing residents to crisis help and online safety resources.
   

5. Madison drummer returns to the stage after cardiac arrest (wkow.com) — A Madison drummer known as Rokker is back performing at Gamma Ray Bar a year after collapsing from cardiac arrest mid-show, thanks to fast CPR and EMS response. Now on his third post-recovery performance, he and the bar’s owner are pushing for more AEDs in local venues and urging Madison residents to get CPR certified and use lifesaving apps like PulsePoint.
