Sun Prairie police arrest 14-year-olds accused of stealing ammo (gazettextra.com) — Three 14-year-olds from Madison were arrested after police say ammunition and pistol magazines were stolen from the Bass Pro Shops in Sun Prairie on Christmas Eve, with one teen ultimately located on a Madison Metro bus. Madison Police and Madison Metro worked alongside Sun Prairie and Waunakee officers, and potential charges include retail theft, resisting and obstructing, THC possession, and possessing a facsimile firearm.

2. Delta Resumes Domestic Route (airlinegeeks.com) — Madison travelers will gain a new nonstop option to Boston next summer as Delta resumes once-daily service between the two cities starting June 7, 2026. The Embraer E175 flights will leave Boston midafternoon and return from Madison early evening, with tickets going on sale this weekend.

Sprinklers prevent dryer fire from becoming Christmas Eve nightmare in downtown Madison (channel3000.com) — A sprinkler system stopped a dryer fire in a downtown Madison high-rise on Christmas Eve from spreading beyond the laundry room, according to fire officials. Crews responded to West Dayton Street just before midnight, finished extinguishing the flames, and ventilated the building. Thanks to the sprinkler and quick response, no injuries were reported.

Family displaced by fire receives new car (wkow.com) — A Madison family displaced by a recent house fire just received a surprise new car, thanks to donations organized through the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County. Community members, including a contributor who flew in from Atlanta, have rallied around the family, raising thousands online and turning what they thought was a toy drop-off into a life-changing holiday moment.
