Falls Girl Wins Packers PP&K Championship

McKenzie Poetzel of Menomonee Falls won the 10- and 11-year-old girls division of the NFL Punt Pass & Kick team championship in Green Bay on Dec. 11.

She was one of four girls in the competition who advanced through local, regional and sectional levels to compete at the Don Hutson Center, according to a release on the Green Bay Packers website.

Her total score for the three disciplines was 211 feet, 10 inches, and her best event was the kick with a score of 91 feet, 3 inches. Scores are determined by measuring how far the ball was thrown or kicked, then subtracting the distance the ball lands from a center line.

She will not advance to the national championships, which take the top four competitors in each bracket from among all the NFL team championships.
