1 Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting; Second In Last Week
A second Milwaukee man is dead after police reported the second fatal officer-involved shooting within the last week. Here's what we know:

MILWAUKEE, WI — A 49-year-old Milwaukee man is dead after police say they shot and killed him over the weekend during a gun-related confrontation.
According to Milwaukee police, officers were sent to a home on the 300 block of W. Reservoir Ave. for a report that a man had a gun just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 29. As police were driving on their way to the scene of the police call, officers learned that the call had been updated to a shots-fired complaint.
Police said they arrived a few minutes later, and confronted a man who was armed with a gun. Police say during the encounter, two police officers fired shots at the man, hitting him. According to police, the man, a 49-year-old Milwaukee man was pronounced dead at the scene. His gun was recovered at the scene, and no officers were hurt during the confrontation, police said.

Police said there were two officers involved in the shooting: a 27-year-old man who has been with the force for two years, and a 23-year-old man who's been on the force for two years as well. The Waukesha police department is heading up the investigation. For officer-involved shootings, state law requires another agency to investigate the case.

This weekend's shooting is the second such shooting in about a week. Milwaukee police identified the man who was fatally shot by police on Monday, Feb. 24 as 27-year-old Lucas Alvarado.
According to Milwaukee police, Milwaukee police officers were sent to the 1500 block of S. Union Street just after 1 a.m. for a shots fired call.
Police say they saw a man that fit Alvarado's description, and ordered him to stop and remove his hands from his pockets.
According to police, Alvarado ignored police orders, and ran, leading officers to chase him.
During the foot pursuit, officers ordered Alvarado to stop several times and remove his hands from his pockets, police said.
According to police, Alvarado brandished a firearm, at which time officers fired shots at him, striking him and resulting in his death at the scene.
Milwaukee police say the officers involved are a 30-year-old man with about two-and-a-half years of service, a 31-year-old man with about four years of service and a 23-year-old man with about 18 months of service time. All three officers have been placed on administrative duty, based on department policy.
According to court documents, Alvarado at the time was wanted by Milwaukee police on multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, substantial battery, armed robbery, and fleeing and eluding an officer stemming from a case filed on Jan. 8, 2020.
According to police, investigators recovered a gun from the scene of the shooting.
State law requires another law enforcement agency to investigate officer-involved shooting cases. The Greenfield Police Department is investigating this officer-involved shooting case, police said.
