1 Dead In Quadruple Shooting, Home Nearby Catches Fire: Milwaukee PD

After four people were shot in Milwaukee Wednesday night, one fatally, a home nearby associated with the suspect caught fire, police said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — After a shooting at a home in Milwaukee Wednesday evening left one dead and three more injured, a fire broke out in a home nearby associated with the suspect, Milwaukee police said in a news release Thursday.

It happened in the 2600 block of North 22nd Street, near Center Street, around 9:19 p.m., police said. An 82-year-old woman from Milwaukee died from her gunshot wounds, according to police. Surviving the shooting were an 88-year-old woman from Colorado, an 85-year-old man from Milwaukee and a 65-year-old man from Milwaukee, police said.

The Colorado woman suffered serious injuries, while the two men from Milwaukee suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. Police said they have a suspect in the case.

More details on what led up to the quadruple shooting and fire nearby remain unclear. Police said the fire came as police were investigating the shooting scene. Milwaukee Fire Department extinguished the flames, and police confirmed the home was associated with a suspect in the shooting.
