2-Year-Old Girl Dies In Shooting Tuesday Night: Police
A 24-year-old woman from Milwaukee is suspected in the shooting, local news outlets report.
MILWAUKEE, WI — A 24-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday in connection to a nighttime shooting that left a 2-year-old girl dead, according to police and local media reports.
In a news release, police said the shooting was reported around 7:23 p.m. Tuesday night in the 6600 block of N. 105Th St. First.
An investigation is ongoing to determine what led up to the shooting.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports first responders tried to save the girl's life, but 2-year-old Zymeiia Stevens was pronounced dead.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner said on Twitter that an autopsy for the girl is scheduled for Wednesday.

"On behalf of the community, I can express the sheer outrage caused by this senseless act. In 2020thus far, the majority of homicides have been the result of fatal shootings," Common Council President Cavalier Johnson said in a statement. "The loss of life in our community from gun violence is unacceptable and I am outraged and saddened that it has taken such a young life last night."
