$25 Million Rental Assistance Program Now Online In Wisconsin
Wisconsin officials said $25 million is now available for people who lost their income as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

MADISON, WI — Help in the form of rent assistance is coming for people who have been out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic in Wisconsin.
On Wednesday, Gov. Tony Evers launched a $25 million Wisconsin rental assistance program, which officials say will provide direct financial assistance for owed rent, security deposits, and wraparound services for program-eligible renters.
State officials say the program is funded through $25 million in federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.

“Wisconsinites have enough to worry about as we continue to battle the deadly COVID-19 virus. They should not also have to worry about losing the roofs over their head,” Evers said in a statement Wednesday.

To qualify, people must be a Wisconsin residents with a household income at or below 80 percent of the county median income during or prior to the application date by one month.
Once approved, people may receive up to $3,000 in a combination of rental payments or security deposits. These payments will be paid directly to the landlord on behalf of the tenant.
