65-Year-Old Dies After Hunting Accident In Northern WI
The man was fatally injured after a firearm accidentally went off, sheriffs in Iron County said.
WISCONSIN — A 65-year-old Minnesota man died after being shot in a hunting accident in Saxon on Tuesday, the Iron County Sheriff's Office announced.
Sheriffs found the man seriously injured at around 4:30 p.m. after a caller said a firearm accidentally went off, Sheriff Paul Samardich said in a statement. Responders tried to resuscitate the man but they were unsuccessful.
Iron County Coroner Diane Simonich pronounced the man dead of a gunshot wound at the scene. The incident is still being investigated.

Saxon first responders, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Beacon Ambulance Services and wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural resources responded to the incident.
