Two More People Die From Coronavirus In Wisconsin
Another county in Wisconsin has seen a death related to the new coronavirus, officials said Wednesday morning.
MADISON, WI — Wisconsin has seen its sixth and seventh deaths related to the new coronavirus, COVID-19, officials said Wednesday.
According to an update provided by Public Health Madison and Dane County, the patient was in their 70s. Health officials did not specify the person's sex.
“We are saddened by the loss of one of our community members, and we extend our sympathies to their loved ones,” Janel Heinrich, Director of Public Health Madison and Dane County said in a statement Wednesday. “COVID-19 can cause serious health complications and death, especially among older adults and people with chronic health conditions, that’s why it’s important that we all work together to prevent the spread of illness.”

On Wednesday afternoon, officials in Milwaukee County said they were conducting an investigation after a 60-year-old Milwaukee man reportedly died from complications of COVID-19 while he was at his home in the 3100 block of W. McKinley. The notification was made public at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 72 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Dane County, and 454 cases across the state.
Dane County was the home of the state's first confirmed case, which came on Feb. 5. That person has since recovered from their infection, health officials confirmed in early March.
On Monday, March 23 state officials said a fifth person died as a result of COVID-19. A fourth person died as a result of COVID-19 over the weekend, officials said. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the death on Twitter, stating the victim was a 69-year-old man who had been hospitalized for several days prior to his death.
On Thursday, health officials confirmed that a Fond du Lac man in his 50s and an Ozaukee County man in his 90s both died from the coronavirus. On Friday, officials confirmed that a man in his 60s died from the virus in Milwaukee County.
