94-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In Crash On Prospect Near Brady: Police

An older adult was crossing the street in Milwaukee on Thursday when a car fatally hit her, according to police.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A 94-year-old woman died in the hospital Thursday evening after a car hit her when she was crossing Prospect Avenue near Brady Street, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

Police said the woman, from Milwaukee, was crossing Prospect Avenue around 3:45 p.m. when a 40-year-old driver hit her. Police said the driver was making a turn when the crash happened and that he stayed on the scene to cooperate.

The woman was brought to a hospital after the crash, but by 7:45 p.m., she died from her injuries, police said.

The intersection where the crash occurred on Thursday is just adjacent to the Brady Street nightlife and entertainment district. The fatality comes hardly weeks after police said a 32-year-old man was fatally hit by a car on Brady Street near Franklin Place.

Thursday's fatal crash on Brady Street also came just hours after a bicyclist was severely injured in Milwaukee in a crash on Fond Du Lac Avenue near Silver Spring Drive, according to police.

Police said the bicyclist was hit just after 7 a.m. by a car making a turn, leaving the 55-year-old with life-threatening injuries.
