Air Quality Advisory Issued For Milwaukee
Sensitive groups like children, elderly people and individuals with respiratory and cardiac problems could be affected.
MILWAUKEE, WI — An air quality alert is in effect for Milwaukee and surrounding communities on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The air quality index is expected to reach the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" level. Sensitive groups — including children, elderly people, individuals with respiratory and cardiac problems and anyone engaged in strenuous outdoor activities for a prolonged period — should avoid extended outdoor exposure.
The alert is due to smoke from Canadian wildfires carried along the border from northeast to southwest throughout the day, according to the weather service.
