Back To School: Milwaukee 2021-22 School Calendar
Parents in Milwaukee can mark the first day of school coming later this summer.
MILWAUKEE, WI — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Milwaukee, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Milwaukee Public Schools.
The first day of school for most middle and high school students in Milwaukee is Aug. 16, because they have an early start. Most elementary school students will start on Sept. 2.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Public Schools will require students to wear masks for the 2021-22 schoolyear, CBS 58 reported.
The mask requirement is likely to not change in the future, an MPS spokesperson told Patch. "We have always maintained through our plan to reopen that students and staff in schools would wear masks in schools and that will continue to be the case at this time," they said.
