Camp Randall Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Badgers, is getting a fancy upgrade. Here are 5 questions answered about the project:

MADISON, WI — Camp Randall Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Badgers football team since 1917 as well as many other university sports, is poised to get a new, multi-million-dollar upgrade to its south end zone, university officials say.
An email sent by Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez to university alumni and booster announced the project, and a new website to keep track of it. You can see that website here.
According to university documents, the project - which doesn't yet have a timetable or a final cost estimate - would involve a major upgrade of the bleacher seating in the south end zone.

Q: How much will the project cost?
A: Until the project’s construction can be put up for competitive bid the actual cost is unable to be determined.

Q: How will the project be funded?
A: The project will be funded with a combination of state bonded dollars, privately fundraised dollars, and dollars associated with new premium seating options.

Q: When will construction start and when will it end?
A: Once an architect is selected, a comprehensive timeline for the project can be finalized. That hasn't happened yet.

Q: What sort of premium seating options will be available as a result of the renovation?
A: A variety of new premium seating options will be available. These options include loge boxes and club seats, access to indoor hospitality and outdoor terrace clubs, climate–controlled amenities, expanded premium food and beverage offerings and best in–class service and operations. The total number of seats in the stadium would go down, officials said, but the number of premium seats would go up.

Q: Why is this project being done?
A: University officials say the renovation will generate money that will help keep Wisconsin's football program competitive while providing support to all 23 Badger sports. According to university officials, the combination of a 2016 market study and the existing premium seating waiting list showed they needed more premium seats.
