Extreme Heat And Thunderstorms Likely For Tuesday And Wednesday
The National Weather Service reported a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday followed by heat into the upper 90s Wednesday.
MILWAUKEE, WI — Wisconsin will see extreme heat Tuesday and Wednesday with a chance of thunderstorms offering little relief.
Heat index values in the 90s is the main risk for Tuesday, the National Weather Service told Patch. Thunderstorms may bring some relief during the afternoon, but some of them may become severe with damaging winds, the weather service said.
Heat index values will reach the 90s and possibly the lower 100s Wednesday, the weather service said said. NWS is uncertain about the amount of cloud cover and rain Wednesday, so temperatures could also be a little cooler, the weather service said.

The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook for thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon for Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Racine, Kenosha, Dane and Iowa counties.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tonight: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight.
Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 97. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
