Face Masks Now Required In Milwaukee County Facilities

MILWAUKEE, WI—Milwaukee County officials issued a universal face mask policy Tuesday based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommends that face masks be worn to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The face masks must be worn by anyone entering a Milwaukee County facility or grounds with a controlled entry point.

They are not required - only highly recommended - at the airport, on buses and at outdoor park spaces, including beer gardens.

Acceptable face coverings include cloth face masks (Ex: handmade/sewn cloth masks), scarves, buffs or bandanas.

A medical-grade face mask is not required or recommended, unless the department providing the service specifically requires and supplies a medical-grade mask to the member of the public.

County officials said they will provide disposable face masks to the public when a face mask is required and on buses; the county, however, will not provide them when wearing a mask is only highly recommended.

According to the county, its face mask policy should be fully operational no later than June 29, 2020.
