Flood Advisory For Parts Of SE Wisconsin As Rain Continues Into Friday
The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory Friday in parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha counties as rain is expected to continue.
MILWAUKEE, WI — The National Weather Service put a flood advisory in effect for parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha counties until 3 p.m. Friday as heavy rain is expected to continue throughout the region.
Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rain is possible, NWS said. Impacts could include minor flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage. River and stream flows may be elevated and ponding of water in urban areas is imminent, the NWS said.
Areas of particular concern for flooding included northern Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, West Bend, Mequon, Hartford, Whitefish Bay, Pewaukee, Brown Deer, Grafton, Cedarburg, Sussex, Hartland, Jackson, Fox Point, Slinger, Bayside, Thiensville and Germantown, the NWS said.

To stay safe amid possible flooding, the NWS said "turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms are possible mainly before 4 p.m. A change of thunderstorms continues into the evening. Storms may produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog is possible this evening, the NWS forecast.
Saturday: There will be a 30 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m. with a mostly cloudy day and a high of 79. Into the night the chance for showers remains, the NWS forecast.
Sunday: There will be a 20 percent chance of showers with partly sunny weather and a high around 80, the NWS forecast.
