Former Milwaukee Alderwoman Gets Jail After Misconduct Charges: Report
Former Milwaukee Alderwoman Chantia Lewis was sentenced on Thursday after she pleaded guilty to misconduct charges, reports said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Former Milwaukee Alderwoman Chantia Lewis was sentenced to probation with jail time on Thursday after she pleaded guilty to a felony misconduct charge in July, according to reports.
Lewis was also convicted on a campaign finance charge in July, online court records showed. She was removed from office amid the convictions, reports said. At her sentencing on Thursday, Lewis was handed 30 days in jail and three years of probation, according to a report by CBS58.
Lewis, who represented parts of Milwaukee's northside since 2016, was initially charged in September of 2021. The charges came months after she announced a bid for the U.S. Senate, with plans to run as a Democrat. When the charges came, Mayor Cavalier Johnson said he relieved Lewis of her committee assignments.
