“Getting a vaccine is more important than ever this year to protect yourself, your family, friends and neighbors from the flu,” Gladney said in a statement. “Offering flu vaccinations free of charge for our most at-risk patients and residents in Milwaukee will help keep our community healthy and free up resources our healthcare systems need to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Young children, the elderly and people with preexisting conditions are more likely to develop serious complications of the flu and of COVID-19.

While the Ascension clinics will only only offer vaccinations to adults, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend the flu shot for everyone six months and over.

Ascension vaccination clinics are first-come first-served and do not require insurance. To get tested, residents need to wear a mask or face covering. Neither photo identification nor a payment method are required.
