I-43 Reopened After Shooting Investigation Past Locust: Sheriff

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said it closed Interstate 43 southbound Tuesday afternoon to investigate the report of a shooting.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Southbound lanes of Interstate 43 were closed Tuesday afternoon in Milwaukee after a shooting was reported, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

As of 1:30 p.m., the sheriff's office said lanes are re-opened.

Nobody was injured but the highway was closed between Locust Street and Interstate 794 at the Marquette Interchange, the sheriff's office said in a tweet just before noon. Traffic was being diverted off at Locust.

Deputies were searching for evidence during the closure, the sheriff's office said.
