La Crosse Man Held On $1M Cash Bond After Arrest In Drug Investigation

LA CROSSE, WI —A La Crosse man was arrested on drug and weapons offenses Monday after an ongoing investigation by the La Crosse Police Department yielded real and counterfeit drugs with a street value of over $1 million, according to the LPD.

Jade Justice Deeny, 26, was arrested for maintaining a drug trafficking place, felon in possession of a firearms (multiple) and several possession with intent charges related to the delivery of drugs, WXOW reported. He currently is being held in the La Crosse County Jail.

According to WXOW, the suspect appeared in La Crosse County Circuit Court on Wednesday, where Judge Todd Bjerke set bond at $1 million cash.

Assistant District Attorney Danielle Kranz had requested a large bond due to the amount of drugs uncovered in the investigation, because she said Deeny was a potential flight risk and because of the suspect's previous convictions on gun and drug charges, WXOW reported.

"The sheer scope of Mr. Deeny's operation is mind-boggling and can in no way be interpreted as for personal use," Kranz said in court, according to WXOW.

Bjerke also said he would not be surprised if federal authorities became interested in the case, WXOW reported.

According to the LPD, after an ongoing investigation, a warranted search was conducted of Deeny's home, car, and a storage unit leased in Deeny's name.

Police said the items seized in the search included:

• 135.13 pounds of pressed counterfeit Xanax in three different colors
• 1-pound fentanyl (located next to Xanax station and most likely used in pills)
• 1-pound counterfeit Adderall, but tested positive for methamphetamine
• 25.3 grams methamphetamine pills
• 77 narcotic pills
• 250.7 grams of cocaine
• 524 grams THC wax
• 4 pounds THC candies
• 212 grams psilocybin infused chocolate
• 4 handguns (2 different high capacity magazines and 1 drum magazine with 51 rounds loaded in it)
• 1 rifle (603 rounds of .223 ammunition)
• 186 rounds 9mm, 198 rounds 45 caliber
• $5,953 dollars
• Automated pill press with professional mixer
• 385 pounds of inert materials needed to make counterfeit Xanax
• Thousands of USPS boxes ready to mail his product

WXOW reported that Deeny is scheduled to return to court on Friday, where he's expected to be formally charged in the case.

The LPD said the investigation remains ongoing.

"La Crosse Police will continue to work with our community in order to provide a safe and vibrant community and to send the message this type of activity will not be tolerated in La Crosse," the LPD said in a statement.
