MILWAUKEE, WI — A suspect is in custody after gunfire hit a car on Interstate 94 near 70th Street on Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

Just before 7 p.m. reports of gunfire came in, prompting a response from Wauwatosa and Brookfield police and the sheriff's office. Eastbound lanes were closed while investigators confirmed that two shots were fired, a news release said.

The car was hit by gunfire, but neither of its two passengers were injured, the sheriff's office said. The passengers managed to get a video of the suspect's car, leading investigators to an arrest on Thursday morning, the news release said.
