Man Fled Deputies At 100 MPH; Left Behind Gun And Cash
Milwaukee police say they're looking for a man who crashed his SUV. He left behind 3 injured passengers, a gun and a "large sum of money."

MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities in Milwaukee County are in search of a driver who knocked over a road sign and fled deputies at more than 100 miles per hour on Thursday morning. Authorities say the man crashed his SUV, and ran away, leaving three injured passengers, a handgun and a large sum of money behind.
He's still on the run.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, at just after 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, a deputy was on patrol in the area of N. 8th St. and W. North Ave., when he saw the driver of a large white SUV driving over the median at N. 8th St., only to strike a road sign.

The deputy tried pulling him over, but the driver of the white SUV fled and hopped on I-43 at North Ave. The suspect accelerated to more than 100 miles per hour as he fled.
Sheriff's officials say the driver exited the freeway at Capitol Dr. and continued east before losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a tree on the west side of Lake Dr. just 100 feet north of Hampshire Dr.

Authorities say the suspect ran west through the neighboring yards. He remains at large at this time. There were three passengers in the crashed vehicle. All passengers had to be pulled from the wrecked SUV, and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
During the investigation of the scene, a handgun and a large sum of money were recovered, authorities said.
