Milwaukee Cops Investigate Shootings; Man Charged In Hit-And-Run

Three people were injured in two separate shootings Thursday and Friday, police said. Also, a suspect has been charged in a deadly crash.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Police in Milwaukee on Thursday and Friday responded to two shootings that left three people injured.

On Thursday, two people were shot just before midnight. In a news release, authorities said a 34-year-old woman and 39-year-old man, both acquaintances, were in the 5200 block of N. 28th Street.

Police said the one person pulled a firearm, and the two began to struggle over the gun. During the struggle, the gun was fired and both the victim and suspect were shot.

The man and woman were both treated for non-life threatening injuries at a nearby hospital, and the suspect was arrested.

It's unclear which of the people was in possession of the gun before the shooting. Police said an investigation is ongoing.

Just after 2 a.m. on Friday, a 31-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after being shot, police said.

According to a statement from authorities, the man was shot in the 2300 block of W. Becher Street. He underwent emergency surgery but is expected to survive.

Police said they are investigating the shooting and working to identify the unknown shooter. Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip to police by calling (414)935-7360 or to Crime Stoppers at (414)224-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted through the P3 Tips App.

A man suspected in a deadly Sept. 26 hit-and-run was charged on Thursday in connection to the crash.

Police said the suspect, Robert Nash, could face a prison sentence of up to 46 years and a fine of up to $160,000 if convicted in the hit-and-run that happened in the 1700 block of North 35th Street.

Police said Nash faces one three charges relating to the deadly crash.
