Milwaukee Police Fatally Shoot 33-Year-Old Man, 3rd In 10 Days
Police shot the man after he refused to drop his handgun following a crash, police said.
MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee police fatally shot a 33-year-old man in the Sherman Park neighborhood Thursday.
Police tried to pull the Milwaukee man over while he was driving at around 7 p.m., but he fled, police said in a statement.
The man then tried to flee with a handgun after he crashed his car and didn't comply with officers' commands to drop the weapon, according to authorities. Two offers fired their guns and hit him, police said.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died, police said. No one else was injured and both officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative duty.
The Waukesha Police Department is investigating the shooting, police said.

This is the third police shooting within 10 days this month — the first occurred Aug. 16.
Greenfield police shot and killed 31-year-old Tyran C. Lamb after a pursuit into Milwaukee Sunday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Lamb shot at officers after he crashed his car, the Greenfield Police Department said in a statement.
One officer was shot multiple times, police said. He remains in the hospital, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Milwaukee police shot and killed 42-year-old Broderick Shelton Jr. after he fired a weapon at officers at a gas station in the city on Aug. 16, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
The Wauwatosa Police Department is investigating that shooting, police said in a statement.
