Power Restored After Power Outage Darkens Downtown, Riverwest
Faulty wiring was to blame.

MILWAUKEE, WI — According to WE Energies, power has been fully restored in Milwaukee's near north side and Riverwest areas early Wednesday after a Tuesday power outage cut power to thousands.
Officials were left Tuesday morning to restore power in Milwaukee after an outage Tuesday morning left more than 5,000 people downtown and in the Riverwest neighborhood. After the lights went out around 7:45 a.m., a spokeswoman for We Energies told Patch. About 1,800 customers, most of them downtown, were temporarily without power, the spokeswoman said.
Faulty wiring on a piece of equipment has been blamed for the outages, We Energies spokeswoman Amy Johns told the Journal Sentinel.
