Milwaukee Chosen For 2024 Republican National Convention
The Republican National Committee on Friday officially voted to hold the 2024 convention in Milwaukee, the RNC Chairwoman said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee was officially selected to host the 2024 Republican National Convention, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel announced via Twitter Friday
Calling Milwaukee a "world-class city," McDaniel said the Republican committee voted unanimously for Milwaukee. The decision was what many were already expecting. Nashville, the only other contender for the convention, rejected a draft agreement to host just days before the decision.
McDaniel said she is looking forward to working with local officials "to deliver an incredible convention for our Party and nominate the next President of the United States!"

"It will mean a ton for Milwaukee, it will mean a ton for the city, for putting us on the map, " Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson told TMJ4 Reporter Charles Benson in part ahead of the decision Friday.
The possibility of the convention met some backlash in May, with activist groups —Voces de la Frontera Action, Power to the Polls, Milwaukee Area Labor Council, Never Again is Now and SEIU — calling the Republican Party "an organization that supports White Supremacists, the violent attempted coup at the U.S. Capitol to overthrow a democratic election, and continues to engineer new ways to undermine fair and democratic elections."
