Milwaukee Women Admit Food Stamp Fraud To Judge Judy: Reports

The two women admitted the crimes to Judge Judy on "Judy Justice," according to reports.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Two Milwaukee women face criminal charges after they admitted to illegally buying and selling food stamps on Judge Judy's "Judy Justice" reality TV show, according to multiple reports.

WISN obtained court documents detailing how Java'la Elams, 25, and Katrina Weems, 41, openly spoke about the crimes in a December 2021 episode. They made the comments about buying and selling food stamps during a case surrounding a car sale between the two women, the report said.

During the taping, Elam told Judge Judith Sheindlin that "Ms. Weems was buying stamps," prompting Sheindlin to ask, "Buying what?," Fox 6 Milwaukee reported. "Buying food stamps ... from everybody, me included," Elam replied.
