MILWAUKEE, WI — Wisconsin residents were urged to get vaccinated or to get a booster shot amid fears over the omicron variant of the coronavirus, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced Tuesday.

Wisconsinites 18 and older are recommended to get a booster shot six months after their full vaccine series, health services Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake said in a statement.

"The best protection against this new variant, or any variant of COVID-19, is to get fully vaccinated and get a booster shot if you’re eligible," Timberlake said.
