1 Dead In Officer-Involved Shooting

Police in Milwaukee say three officers shot and killed a man they were chasing after he drew a gun and pointed it at his pursuers.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities in Milwaukee say officers shot and killed a man early Monday in an officer-involved shooting on Milwaukee's south side.

According to Milwaukee Police, officers were sent to the 1500 block of S. Union Street just after 1 a.m. Monday, located just west of South Division High School.

Police said they located the man, whom they believed to be armed. According to police, the man ran from officers. As he ran, police said he drew a gun and turned to confront police.

Police said the three officers that were chasing him drew their own weapons and opened fire on the man, shooting and killing him.

According to police, investigators recovered a gun from the scene of the shooting.

State law requires another law enforcement agency to investigate officer-involved shooting cases. The Greenfield Police Department is investigating this officer-involved shooting case, police said.
