Pedestrian, 82, Killed When Struck By Car In Milwaukee

Police said the driver of the vehicle was 14 years old.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Two people were arrested Monday after a crash left a pedestrian dead, police said.

In a news release, Milwaukee police said a vehicle was driving in the 2600 block of W. Lapham Street around 1:40 p.m. when it struck an unoccupied parked car before going onto the sidewalk.

On the sidewalk, the car struck a pedestrian, only identified as an 82-year-old man, who became trapped underneath the car.

Police said the man was rescued from beneath the car and taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the car was driven by a 14-year-old boy, and the passenger was a 25-year-old woman. Both were arrested.

Police said criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office in the coming days.
