Severe Thunderstorm Warning For Southeast Wisconsin: NWS

The National Weather Service has issued a thunderstorm warning for Milwaukee County Wednesday night.

WISCONSIN — Thunderstorms with the risk of wind faster than 30 mph and pea sized hail are expected Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service said.

A strong thunderstorm will impact parts of northern Milwaukee County, the weather service said. Affected areas include Milwaukee, West Allis, Wauwatosa, Whitefish Bay, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Elm Grove, Bayside, West Milwaukee, Glendale, River Hills and Shorewood.

The storm warning was issued from around 5:40 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

People attending The Wisconsin State Fair, and Music in the Glen in Glendale are advised to take shelter, the weather service said.

The weather service warns gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

This Afternoon: Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 61. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
