Shooting Leaves Woman Dead In West Allis, Suspect At Large: Police
A shooting around noon Monday in West Allis near 72nd and Madison streets left a 24-year-old woman dead, according to police.
WEST ALLIS, WI — A 24-year-old woman was killed in a shooting Monday on 72nd Street about two blocks north of Greenfield Avenue and police are still looking for the shooter, according to a news release from the West Allis Police Department.
Police received 911 calls around 12:30 p.m. reporting gunfire and a person being shot in the 1300 block of South 72nd Street, police said in the news release. Police found the woman with gunshot wounds. Personnel from the West Allis Police Department provided care, but the woman died at the scene of the shooting, police said.
Police said the shooter was not at the scene and remains at large. West Allis police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 414-302-8000.
