Snow Showers Continue In Tuesday And Thursday Forecast

Snow showers are expected to return to the Milwaukee area Tuesday, and there are chances of more snow Thursday. Here's the latest forecast.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Snow showers accumulating up to an inch on the ground are expected in southeast Wisconsin on Tuesday afternoon, while authorities say that Monday's snowy and slippery conditions caused over a dozen car crashes on local highways.

Snow showers starting off as flurries at 2 p.m. and snow at 4 p.m. will hit southern Wisconsin on Tuesday, forecasters said, as temperatures will stay in the freezing 20s and the chance of precipitation will hover at 50 percent.

Flurries are expected to return before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, and forecasters said the day will warm up slightly with a high near 31.

Thursday could bring the snow again with a mix of rain before 10 a.m., and forecasters said the day will warm up again with a high near 40. Rain and a possible thunderstorm are expected to follow Friday.

People travelling on snowy roadways should slow down and give space to other cars for braking, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

Tuesday: A chance of flurries between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., then a chance of snow showers after 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. Wind chill values between zero and 10. West wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Tonight: A chance of snow showers, mainly before 7 p.m., then a chance of flurries after 9 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 20. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Wednesday: A chance of flurries before 10 a.m. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 31. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

Thursday: A chance of snow, mixing with rain after 10 a.m., then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Friday: Rain likely after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 45. Light and variable wind becoming east 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Rain likely before 7 p.m., then rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m., then a chance of rain after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 37 by 5 p.m.
