Summerfest Entry Rules Refresher: What To Do At The Gates
Summerfest will require COVID-19 vaccination cards or negative tests to enter this year. Here's what to do at the gates.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Summerfest will require visitors to have COVID-19 vaccination cards or a negative test to get into the Henry Maier Festival Park in September.
All attendees will be asked to show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card, a printed copy of a card, a photo of a card or proof of a negative test when entering at any gate, the festival said in a statement. The new entry rules will apply for all Summerfest 2021 dates and Wednesday concerts.

The festival is set to kick off Thursday and continue Sept. 9-11 and Sept. 16-18. There will also be kickoff concerts Wednesday, Sept. 8 and Sept. 15.

- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours result are needed to attend. Fans will be asked to show their vaccination card or negative test when entering any Summerfest gate. An original vaccination card, a printed copy or a negative test will be accepted.
- Fans can also provide a screen shot or photo of a vaccination card or negative on their phone. The entire front of the card or test must be visible or it won't be accepted.
- Fans are encouraged to get tested in advance, the festival said. Test results must be obtained within 72 hours of the date fans plan to attend. PCR and rapid tests are acceptable, but antigen tests aren't. Fans can find testing information from the City of Milwaukee Health Department.
- Rapid COVID-19 testing is available on site at the north and south entrance gates, the festival said. Fans can buy test tickets at gate ticket windows for $25 per test. Fans can also save time by registering online. Anyone who tests positive will be asked to leave the festival grounds immediately, the festival said.
- Masks are recommended in indoor spaces, including the Summerfest store, restrooms and first-aid stations, the festival said. All children ages 2-11 must wear a mask.
- No backpacks or bags larger than 9-by-10-by-12 inches are allowed, the company said. There will be express lanes at the gate for people without bags.
Summerfest will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Henry Maier Festival Park on Sept. 11, the company said. The clinic will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Summerfest middle gate.
All patrons who get vaccinated at Summerfest will get two general admission tickets valid for Summerfest 2021.
