Car ID'd In Amber Alert Found; Search For 3-Year-Old Continues

Police found a car identified in an Amber Alert in the search for Major Harris, the 3-year-old last seen going from La Crosse to Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Police on Monday said they have found the vehicle identified in the Amber Alert for missing 3-year-old Major Harris.

Police said they were looking for a black 2008 Chevrolet Equinox with the Wisconsin vehicle plate number ABE2804.

Major Harris was last seen Oct. 9 in La Crosse. His mother is a homicide victim, and police went to a Milwaukee house in the 5400 block of North 41st Street on Sunday to look for the suspect in the killing.

Two gunshots rang out within 15 minutes of officers arriving at the house, police said.

Officers found the suspect dead inside from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. No officers fired shots during their search, police said.

Police were continuing to ask the public for help finding Major.

Harris, is 3 feet tall and 40 pounds. He has a light complexion, thin build, black hair in four shoulder-length zig-zag braids, and brown eyes, according to the alert.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue T-shirt with a small pocket on the left side, navy blue basketball shorts and no shoes or socks, the alert said.
