WEST ALLIS, WI — A West Allis woman pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges of neglecting a child until death and physical abuse, online court records showed.

Tasha M. Rockow, 32, was charged in Sept. 2021 in connection with the death of her 6-year-old son. The court convicted Rockow of second-degree reckless homicide on Wednesday and convicted her of the charges she pleaded guilty to, but a charge of false imprisonment was dismissed, according to online court records. Rockow's sentencing hearing was scheduled for Oct. 10.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Patch in 2021, first responders found the child at a home in West Allis on Sept. 6, 2021, with bruises covering him and a small stab wound that appeared to possibly be from an earlier injury. He appeared malnourished and later died at the hospital, the complaint said.
