WI Spot Makes USA Today's 'Best Restaurants' List

MILWAUKEE — Calling all Dairyland foodies!

USA TODAY released a new ranking of the best restaurants in the U.S. on Thursday, and one in Wisconsin was included. Odd Duck in Milwaukee made the list.

"For more than a decade, this vibrant small-plates restaurant has effortlessly blended a crafty, globe-trotting menu with pure Midwestern charm," writes Rachel Bernhard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

"You see it in the handwritten notes left at your table on a special-occasion dinner. You feel it in the vibrant dining space filled with perky potted plants and dozens of duck figurines tucked into the decor. You taste it in the ever-evolving menu, where dishes like Filipino-style pork belly lechon kwali with peanut kare-kare, Haitian beef short rib joumou and chicken-fried oyster mushrooms with Nashville hot sauce share space in artful cohesion.

Odd Duck was a 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist for outstanding restaurant. Its chefs, Ross Bachhuber and Samuel Ek, are 2024 James Beard Award nominees.
