Wisconsin Police Shoot, Kill Man Who Took Shots At Officers: Cops
During the ensuing encounter, several officers returned fire, and managed to wound the man.
MADISON, WI β Police in Madison say a man is dead after he fired multiple shots at officers Sunday night.
According to Madison police call logs, officers were called to the 6500 block of Raymond Road on Madison's southwest side just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 on a report of a man shooting a gun.
Police arrived at the scene several minutes later. In a statement late Sunday, acting Madison Police Chief Vic Wahl said a 63-year-old man with a gun began firing his handgun at officers.

During the ensuing encounter, several officers returned fire, and managed to wound the man. Officers attempted lifesaving measures. He was transported to a hospital for emergency treatment, but did not survive.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation was called to investigate the officer-involved shooting.
