Wisconsin Weather: Extreme Heat Will Follow Monday's Thunderstorm
The National Weather Service says large hail, gusty winds and a tornado are possible Monday and high heat and humidity Tuesday.
WISCONSIN — Thunderstorms with the risk of strong winds and a possible tornado are expected Monday evening, the National Weather Service said. Temperatures in the 80s and 90s will follow Tuesday afternoon, the weather service said.
The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook for Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine and Kenosha, Jefferson and Iowa counties and the border between Wisconsin and Illinois.
"Thunderstorms are possible this morning and again this afternoon and evening," the weather service said. "Severe weather is possible with the afternoon and evening activity, mainly southeast of a line from Janesville to Milwaukee. Large hail, gusty winds, and possibly a tornado or two will be possible."

The storms will possibly drop one to two inches of rain per hour, the weather service said.
The weather service said that on Tuesday, the heat index will be between 100-105 in the southeast Wisconsin region, with the hottest areas south of the I-94 corridor. There will be a conditional threat for severe thunderstorms on Tuesday, the weather service said.

If storms form on Tuesday, they will potentially produce very large hail and high winds, the weather service said. It's not clear if storms will develop Tuesday, the weather service added.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms. High near 80. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 5 p.m. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 97. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers. Mostly clear, with a low around 72. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
