Woman Dies After Falling From Moving Vehicle In Milwaukee

A woman fell and died when she sat on the window frame of a vehicle driving near Milwaukee's 35th Street Viaduct on Sunday, police said.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A woman fell from the window of a moving vehicle near the north end of Milwaukee's 35th Street viaduct and suffered injuries that proved fatal, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

The woman fell from the vehicle's window around 2:3o a.m. on Sunday, according to Milwaukee police. Authorities said when the woman fell from the window, the rear of the vehicle she fell from hit her. She was a passenger in the vehicle and police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

Police said she sat on the window frame of the vehicle as it was driving near the north end of the 35th Street bridge over the Menomonee River Valley.

Police initially identified the woman as 18 years old but she was actually 21, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner has clarified, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

A second fatal crash in Milwaukee Sunday came just hours after the death near the Menomonee River Valley, according to police.

An 87-year-old woman was driving in the 5400 block of Sherman Boulevard just before noon when her vehicle left the road and hit a tree, police said. The woman was dead at the scene of the crash, police said.
