Woman Shot At Before Being Abducted In Milwaukee: Police

Milwaukee police said a woman is safe after a man abducted her Thursday afternoon near 5th and Vliet Streets.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A woman was shot at and then forced into a vehicle near 5th and Vliet Streets Thursday afternoon, but she is now safe, according to Milwaukee police.

The abduction happened around 2 p.m. in a neighborhood adjacent to downtown. Police said the 23-year-old woman was running away from a man who was shooting. The man then grabbed and forced the woman into a car, police said, but authorities were able to find the woman and suspect.

The woman was not hit by any of the shots and she made it out of the situation without physical injury, police said.

Police said they found two guns after arresting the suspect, a 31-year-old man. Charges were sent for review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney, police said.
