Charge Sought After 2-Car Crash Injures Pedestrian: New Berlin Police

A vehicle left the road in New Berlin Tuesday and crashed, injuring the driver and bystanders from Greenfield and Brookfield, police said.

NEW BERLIN, WI — Three people were injured in a crash near Park Avenue and 124th Street early Tuesday morning in New Berlin when a vehicle crossed into oncoming lanes, hit a parked car, and struck a person on a nearby business' lawn, according to police.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. in the 1900 block of 124th Street. Police said a 68-year-old man from West Allis was driving north in the area when he crossed into the southbound lanes, hitting the parked vehicle. Inside the parked vehicle was a 46-year-old man from Greenfield, New Berlin police said in a news release.

The West Allis man's vehicle continued and left the roadway where it hit a 59-year-old man from Brookfield who was located on the front lawn of a business, Mary's Caddy Shack, police said.

Police said they plan on referring a charge of operating while intoxicated causing great bodily harm to the Waukesha County District Attorney for the West Allis man.

The pedestrian from Brookfield and the West Allis man were brought to Froedtert Hospital after the crash, police said. The Greenfield man was brought to West Allis Memorial Hospital. All were carried by ambulances but police said nobody's injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
