House Fire On Lilac Lane In New Berlin Quickly Extinguished

Authorites said the residents of a New Berlin house that caught on fire early Tuesday morning were able to evacuate.

NEW BERLIN, WI — After a house caught fire early Tuesday morning on south Lilac Lane off Glendale Drive in New Berlin, the home's residents were able to evacuate.

The fire at the single-family home was reported just after 5 a.m., according to a news release from the New Berlin Fire Department. Firefighters found flames spreading into the home's attic and were able to bring it under control by 5:23 a.m., the release said.

What caused the fire remains under investigation, authorites said.
