Man Crashes On Wehr Road, Leaves Scene, Arrested: New Berlin Police
Police said the man was charged with underage drinking among other charges after he hit a mailbox on Wehr Road on May 8.
NEW BERLIN, WI — A New Berlin man crashed his vehicle in the 3100 block of Wehr Road on May 8 around 2:35 a.m. and police arrested him for underage drinking and other charges, according to the latest publicly reported logs from the New Berlin Police Department.
The man crashed into a mailbox, ditch, culvert and retaining wall and then left on foot before police found him in the area, according to police logs. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain vehicle control, hit and run property adjacent to a highway, and failure to notify police of accident, according to logs.
It was a single-vehicle crash.

- An assisted living facility in the 13700 block of Fieldpointe Drive reported a catalytic converter theft on May 9. A man dressed in all black took two catalytic converters from two transport buses in the parking lot and fled in an older Toyota pickup truck with white graphics and a truck cap, according to police logs.
- A resident in the 2800 block of Franklin Court told police someone entered his garage in the early morning hours of May 9 and took items.
- Another resident in the 2800 block of Franklin Court told police a man entered into his unlocked garage, shed and vehicle and took items in the early morning hours of May 9.
- A resident in the 18300 block of National Avenue told police someone entered his unlocked garage at some point between May 7 and May 8 and took power tools.
