New Berlin Community Document Shred Event Saturday
Shred old and unused documents at Malone Park on Saturday.
NEW BERLIN, WI — Educators Credit Union will host a community shred event Saturday.
The shred event will start at 9 a.m. at Malone Park, 16400 W. Al Stigler Parkway.
Shredding may end early or be canceled if the truck is full before noon or if the weather is wet, the credit union said.

Shredding documents is the primary way to safeguard personal information, shredding business True Shred said.
The credit union shared these tips for the event:

- Stay in your vehicle. The credit union will remove paper from your car, so have it in an easily accessible location.
- The maximum limit is five boxes or 100 pounds of paper per car.
- The credit union will only accept paper. All boxes, plastic bags and other materials will be returned after the paper is collected.
- Check for important documents you don’t want to shred such as birth certificates, marriage licenses and social security cards.
- There may be long wait times due to the popularity of these events.
