New Berlin Plans Drug Take Back Drive-Thru Event For April 30

The City of New Berlin has invited people to a drive-thru drug collection event on April 30.

NEW BERLIN, WI — The City of New Berlin has invited people to a drive-thru drug take-back event at the Froedtert Moorland Reserve Health Center on April 30.

People will be able to turn in unused or expired medications for safe disposal from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., according to a flyer distributed by the city. The event will take place at the Froedtert Moorland Reserve Health Center, located at 4805 Moorland Road in New Berlin.

Prescription medication, over-the-counter medications, ointments, sprays, inhalers, creams, vials, herbs and even pet medicine are all welcome for the take-back for safe disposal. People are asked to not bring any biohazardous materials, any mercury, household hazardous waste or personal hygiene products.

The event comes as a partnership between the New Berlin Police Department and Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Any unopened or unused medications which are not expired may be collected to be given to people with cancer or chronic diseases who are underinsured or do not have insurance, the city's flyer says.
